Our construction approach

Building a passive house starts with a solid, high-performance structure. At Ecoprojects we master the three essential building components: wall, floor and roof, using advanced materials that deliver excellent insulation, airtightness and long-term durability. Together, they create a stable, low-energy building envelope that forms the foundation of every passive home we deliver.

Seismic resistance

The system is known for the strength of its monolithic structure, which makes it capable of withstanding earthquakes and natural disasters. This resistance is due to the materials and technology used in its construction, ensuring increased stability and safety.

Fire safety

Fire resistance class A1 due to the layer of flame-retardant expanded polystyrene and its covering layer of fiber cement, providing time for evacuation and intervention.

Termal and accoustic insulation

Thermal insulation: Due to the expanded polystyrene (EPS), the system has low thermal conductivity, reducing heat loss and heating/cooling costs, leading to an A+++ energy class.

Acoustic insulation: The structure of the Polistibrick system, including the mass and density of the materials, helps reduce airborne noise transmission and improve indoor acoustic comfort.

Fast construction

Being a prefabricated product, it allows for installation up to 60% faster compared to traditional constructions.

Built with leading sustainable partners

To ensure your home doesn’t just perform structurally but also operates efficiently, we work closely with two trusted sustainable partners.

Polistibrick provides the innovative wall, floor and roof panels that give our homes their exceptional thermal performance and fast, precise installation. Romstal supplies the high-efficiency technical systems that bring the structure to life, including plumbing, sanitary components and heating solutions such as heat pumps and low-energy installations.

By combining cutting-edge building systems with sustainable technical integrations, we deliver passive homes that are not only strong and comfortable, but truly future-proof.

MBK Wall

The wall system we use is designed to deliver strong insulation, structural reliability and high speed of execution. The system integrates the structural formwork and insulation in one monolithic solution which eliminates cold spots and thermal bridges. As soon as the concrete is poured the walls are ready for finishing, reducing time and labour while delivering long-term performance and acoustic comfort.

PBK Floor

The floor component is not just a base but a vital part of your home’s comfort and energy efficiency. Our floor panels come with integrated insulation and high mechanical strength, allowing rapid installation and smooth indoor surfaces. The result is a comfortable quiet interior with stable temperatures and the ability to integrate installations easily.

TBK Roof

The roof system completes the building envelope with a sandwich-style panel that ensures excellent thermal and acoustic insulation and outstanding mechanical resistance. It protects the home from heat loss in winter and overheating in summer, and allows for quick assembly with fewer supporting structures. This creates a home that is efficient, resilient and prepared for all weather conditions.

How we build a passive house step by step

Our method keeps the work fast, accurate and consistent, so every stage is completed with care and precision.

Solid foundations as the base of performance
Foundation works for a passive house by Ecoprojects, prepared for a stable and energy efficient build.

Every passive home starts with a stable and well prepared foundation. We carefully prepare the ground and pour the foundations with precision. This ensures long term stability and creates the perfect base for an airtight and energy efficient structure from day one.

An insulated floor that locks in comfort
Insulated floor slab installation creating a strong base that helps retain heat and improve comfort year round.

On top of the foundations we build a highly insulated floor slab. This layer prevents heat loss through the ground and guarantees a comfortable indoor climate. By integrating insulation directly into the floor construction we avoid weak points and ensure consistent performance.

Walls that form the thermal shell
Building the thermal wall shell to keep warmth inside and reduce energy loss in a passive house structure.

The walls define the heart of the passive house. Using advanced building blocks we create a continuous thermal shell around the home. This keeps warmth inside during winter and heat outside in summer while providing strength and durability for decades.

Structural assembly with precision
Precise structural assembly with attention to airtight construction, ensuring every layer works as one system.

As the walls rise the structure of the house becomes visible. Every element is placed with care to maintain airtightness and alignment. This step is crucial because precision here determines how well all following layers will work together as one system.

Roof construction that seals the home
Roof construction designed to seal the home and support low energy use with continuous insulation and airtightness.

The roof completes the main structure and protects the home from the elements. We build it with the same focus on insulation and airtightness as the walls and floor. This creates a closed envelope that supports low energy consumption and stable indoor comfort.

Exterior finishing with facade panels
Installing facade panels for a durable exterior finish that protects the home and completes the architectural look.

Once the structure is closed we install the exterior facade panels. These panels protect the home and give it its final shape. At the same time they add an extra layer of protection against weather while keeping the clean and modern appearance intact.

A finished shell ready for living
Semi-passive house in Romania

At this stage the passive home is fully enclosed and weatherproof. The structure insulation and exterior finish work together as one system. This creates a strong reliable shell that is ready for interior works and designed to perform efficiently for years to come.
